Already have a ticket and want to bring extra baggage? In most cases, you can arrange this through My Trip. Otherwise, you can do it at the airport. But you'll often pay more there.
What's the cost of extra checked baggage?
If you buy your extra checked baggage at least 24 hours before departure, you'll pay:
- EUR 20 to EUR 70 per piece on flights within Europe
- EUR 30 to EUR 240 per piece on intercontinental flights

Want to buy extra checked baggage within 24 hours of departure? You can still arrange it through My Trip. But you'll often pay more.
Traveling with more than 3 pieces of checked baggage?
You can bring up to 10 extra pieces of checked baggage per person. The exact number depends on the airplane type. Bringing more than 3 pieces? Please tell us in advance. We'll check if there's room on board.

Are you a Flying Blue member?
Flying Blue Ultimate and Platinum members can bring 2 extra pieces of checked baggage for free on KLM and Air France flights. As a Gold or Silver member, you can always check in 1 extra piece of baggage for free on these flights.
Just a heads-up: if your Flying Blue level changes, your benefits will be based on the level you have on the day of your flight.
How much does oversized or overweight baggage cost?
The maximum weight per piece is 23 kg in Economy Class and Premium Comfort Class. For Business Class, it's 32 kg.
Before you travel, check that your baggage meets the requirements. This helps to avoid any unwelcome surprises. Did you pack a little more than expected, and is your baggage too large or too heavy? We'll have to charge a fee. The exact fee depends on the weight of your baggage and the airline you're flying with.
Good to know: including handles and wheels, your bag must never exceed 300 cm in total dimensions (length + width + height) or weigh more than 32 kg. If it does, you can have it transported as cargo.
